“I have an absurd kind of extravagance. If I see an orchid that’s fantastically expensive, I’ll buy it. It’s worth it, for no other reason than it gives me pleasure.” Lee Radziwill

The Hair Hue for 2019

“Once in his life, every man is entitled to fall madly in love with a gorgeous redhead.”

Lucille Ball

Well maybe not red as such but shades of copper, bronze and caramel were all ablaze on the recent red carpets of The Oscars, Grammy’s and at International Fashion weeks. Not only are these complexion enhancing hues popping up on celebs social media and front row at Fashion Week, but we are also seeing them embracing the chop! Short blunt styles and sleek bobs were seen on actress Charlize Theron and Game of Thrones Star Emilia Clarke at the recent Oscars ceremony. It’s a very big tick from me as I love the shorter styles. Maybe a trip to my hair stylist is on the cards!

Concealer- My top picks

That elusive perfect skin.. or just a good concealer? Image- Olivia Palermo

Not all of us are blessed with perfect skin and even the people you think have flawless skin, have bad days too! I must admit I’m a skin care routine kind-of-girl first and foremost! I think it’s crucial in a beauty regime to work from the ground up, inside and out. For me, my gut health and balance is so important for clear skin, monthly hydra facials, daily vitamin A + C and of course a minimum SPF 30+.

Even with the best of care, I’m still prone to a hormonal break out, dark under eye circles and slight pigmentation. I like to use on primed hydrated skin, a sheer foundation or tinted moisturizer just to even out the skin tone then I go in with a concealer. I only apply concealer where I need it as I like a natural look.

From Left- Hourglass Hidden Corrective Concealer
Bobbi Brown Instant Full Cover Concealer
La Mer The Concealer
Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer

For Blemishes- Hourglass: Its creamy, blends easy and has good staying power. I like this on dark spots also. Concealer brush or clean finger is good with this product.

Dark under eye circles- La Mer: Bendable medium coverage, weightless, with a luminous long-wear finish. This high end concealer is also a treatment product with anti-ageing actives including the La Mer Miracle Broth and antioxidants. I use a brush and a clean finger with this product.

All Rounder- Nars: This award winning concealer is easy to use, with a wand applicator and I use my clean finger to work the product. It helps to conceal blemishes, as well as brighten the under eye area (Select a shade or two lighter than your face shade), also as an easy contour product (Select one or two shades darker). Coverage is build-able and long wearing.

Stubborn Spots or a heavy coverage- Bobbi Brown: Very long wearing, highly concentrated and great for anything that requires a full cover. Work quickly with this product as I find it dries and sets fast. I use my fingers as it warms and blends better than using a brush.

Flawless Skin- Amber Heard.

My Daily SPF+ Products for Face and body

What’s on my bathroom vanity? SPF creams! A must in the Australian climate!

With the announcement that Australia is the melanoma capital of the world, I wanted to share my daily go-to SPF products that I love!

Body- I have recently found this beautiful Australian made product from We are feel good inc. The brain child of a surfer, a doctor and a builder on a surf trip, this product is one that has evolved from passion.
This SPF 50+ cream is also PRESERVATIVE, PABA & PARABEN FREE. They have also eliminated reef harming UV filters, OXYBENZONE & OCTINOXATE from the formulas so you can feel good inside and out when using the product. Gluten Free and cruelty free. Oh and smells UH-Mazing!!

Feel Good Inc

Face- I have hunted for a long time trying to find an SPF sunscreen that didn’t make me break out, feel oily or cast a white glow across my face. Enter Ultraceuticals Ultra UV Protective Daily Moisturiser SPF 30. On my skin the cream is super hydrating, fast absorbing and light weight. It sits well under makeup or a primer also. Not only is this product amazing on my skin but it also has the best packaging. It’s in an easy to use pump tube and great for traveling or throwing in your bag and heading down the beach. I use the hydrating formula and my husband uses the mattifying.

CC creams- My favourite daily tints on rotation currently are the Luminessence from Giorgio Armani and the Illuminating CC cream from It Cosmetics. The GA is light weight, illuminating and sheer. It’s perfect for the day or when I just want a light coverage and has an SPF 35! Win.

The It Cosmetics cream is a medium to full coverage with an SPF 50+!!! It’s a beautiful, glowing product on the skin and I use this product daily. It can be hard to find in Australia though. My shades light and medium are often sold out online so when I do find it in stock, I grab a few tubes!

Primer- The skin perfect primer from Dermalogica has been in my daily rotation for some time. It glides on the skin with ease and has a slight tint to the formula, which allows me to wear it alone over my moisturiser for a luminous, smooth glow. SPF 30

Always read the label. Follow directions for use.

Lisa Eldridge- The Ultimate True Velvet Collection.

Lisa Eldridge is the ultimate when it comes to celebrity makeup artists. With a cult following world wide and a pin- point concealing video that went viral, she has established her dot.com to be the go to when you want makeup tips, a classic smokey eye and detailed product advice. I have been a huge fan for some years so when I heard Lisa was launching her own lipstick collection, I was eager to see the colour range and finish. I was surprised she kept the range to just 3 red shades but i was elated for the fact. The market is flooded with a number of makeup lines created or endorsed by celebrities (some good, bad and ugly) so it was refreshing to see restraint by Lisa when it came to her Limited lipstick range. Offering a neutral/ blue based red, brick red and an orange red, there is a tone to suit everyone. Although we are all awaiting the restock on the Lisaeldridge website, the Lipsticks will be available to order in a trio or individually.

See shade range and the gorgeous gold packaging below-

Top shade-

Middle shade-

I’m wearing the shade Velvet Morning. This pic was taken after 6 hours of wear, I ate lunch/coffee run and no touch ups (excuse my scruffy brows!). Staying power was great and my lips still felt hydrated.

Check out Lisa’s you tube video below, talking about the range and doing a full shade demo. Also giving shade advice for skin tones. Love her!
The Lipsticks are cruelty free.
