Spring into the 80’s

When I first saw images of the Isabel Marant Spring 2019 Runway Show at Paris Fashion Week, I knew the collection was a little different for the tried and true, boho chic, Parisian designer. It was an announcement almost, telling the current uncertain world.. Hey! We are here, we are
resilient and we are ready to party!

Marant’s typical collections are for the breezy, boho girl that is effortlessly chic. I love her collections. I’m first to jump online and see any drops on Net- a- Porter. So this collection boasting steel coloured sequins, foiled leather, over size shapes and denim on denim was right up my fashion alley. I saw the collection as a cool girl, paying homage to the 80’s glam era.

I think Isabel Marant has made the collection still accessible for the every day women. Yes some of the hem lines are high and the oh-so-hot sequins are not for all but being able to take ‘wearable’ pieces from the collection such as a slouch boot, boiler suit or a lamé mini dress with an over sized blazer will still inspire and excite the everyday consumer.

Some of my adored looks from the collection and a clip of the show-
